Mergent Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to support maintenance and project execution across one of the world’s largest and most diversified mines and adjacent assets.
This FIFO role (ex-Adelaide) operates on a flexible roster (9/5, 5/2,4/3) with company paid camp/ accommodation provided. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for leading departmental performance, driving growth, and ensuring smooth, high-quality operations.
In this role, you will actively contribute as part of the management team, ensuring the safe operation of work groups by adhering to operational requirements. You will provide ongoing technical support and oversight whilst working toward individual, team, and site objectives as directed.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee electrical project execution in underground and surface mining.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure smooth delivery while meeting Australian electrical standards and safety regulations.
- Track and manage electrical installations, terminations, and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot on-site issues and provide technical support to field teams.
- Identify cost-saving measures and mitigate financial risks across projects.
- Prepare and assess tenders, estimates, and quotes.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to enhance project outcomes.
- Monitor budgets and track costs to maintain profitability.
Qualifications/ Knowledge:
- SA electrical licence – essential
- Construction industry white card – essential
- Australian work rights – essential
- Skilled communicator
- First Aid & LVR / CPR – essential
- HV Switching & Hazardous areas – desirable
- Prior experience with financial reporting and budgets
- Over 5 years’ experience in mining electrical projects
- Strong understanding of Australian/ New Zealand standards and mining guidelines
- Police clearance
- Must have considerable knowledge of the basic methods, practices, tools, materials, and work standards related to the building, Electrical, construction and maintenance scopes of work.
