About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Survey Manager looking to step into a permanent full time role with complex projects in the NSW/ACT region of a leading civil construction company. The first project is a complex road infrastructure project based in South-West Sydney.
You will be responsible for the planning and coordination of all survey related activities in conjunction with the project engineering, design and construction teams. This role will also have responsibility for the supervision and support of all survey team members, as well as any subcontract survey resources on site.
- Carry out field work for engineering surveys for civil construction activities
- Set up control, conduct feature and level and as-built surveys
- Perform fieldwork, calculations, data reduction and manipulation
- Volume surveys for progress payments
- Progressive Quality Assurance (QA) checks
- As-con plans
About you
- Proven managerial experience of survey crews
- Ability to work independently and as a key team member
- Ability to mentor and train staff to required technical level
- Ability to develop standard documents and training material
- Proactive self-starter
Skills and Experience Required
- Tertiary qualifications in surveying or spatial science
- Minimum 10 years surveying experience with at least 5 years in civil construction and civil set out (experience in a Defence project highly regarded)
- Intermediate/expert user of the following software;
- 12d model
- 12d synergy
- AutoCAD
- Trimble Business Centre
- Experience using all types of surveying field software and hardware including;
- Trimble
- Topcon
- Leica
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in the use of drones and associated software advantageous
