What You'll Do
Join the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria (RBGV) as a Project Coordinator and play a key role in enhancing the accessibility and storage of our renowned collection at the National Herbarium of Victoria.
In this role, you'll coordinate the planning and implementation of a major project to decompact, consolidate, and relocate collection materials. Leading a team of Project Officers, you'll manage scheduling, workflows, and logistics while ensuring high-quality standards are maintained. You'll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, monitoring budgets, and preparing progress reports for key stakeholders. This position involves working closely with internal teams, contractors, and volunteers, assisting with recruitment and training, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards. What You'll Bring
We're seeking a proactive Project Coordinator with a background in science, museum studies, or a related field, and experience in project management and team leadership. You'll bring strong data management skills, familiarity with herbarium procedures and classification systems, and proficiency in collection management software such as Specify. Exceptional planning, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently. A strategic mindset, collaborative approach, and passion for optimising collection management will set you up for success in this exciting project.
