About the Role
MacKillop College, Bathurst has an exciting opportunity for a Library Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis. The role will be a part time position where the hours may slightly vary based on students’ needs. Working days will be Wednesday to Friday.
The Library Assistant will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality instruction to students in a Catholic School setting. The role will involve:

Providing support for the Teacher Librarian with the daily routine and management of the College Learning Centre

Supporting and supervising students in the Library, including lunchtimes, senior study groups and those participating in Distance Education Programs.

Collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences

Applying appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment

Supporting College events and activities, including year groups, house teams, whole school assemblies and liturgies.
About You
We are looking for someone who is able to address the following selection criteria:

The desire to engage with and contribute to a Catholic learning organisation

Experience and effectiveness as an Administration Officer, Learning Support Officer, School Support Officer, Teacher’s Aide or equivalent

A capacity to work collegially and collaborate within a diverse team.

Strong communication and organisational skills, punctuality and adaptability.

Highly developed personal skills that include patience, understanding and perseverance

characteristics that provide a positive role model to students at the College in both their professional and personal life.
