  • Provide high level, confidential secretarial and administrative support across two senior executive offices.
  • VPS Grade 5 role: $109,730 - $132,764 per year plus superannuation.

The Opportunity

The Deputy Secretary and Commissioner for Youth Justice are supported by a shared team consisting of two Strategic Advisers, a Senior Executive Assistant and a Senior Program Officer. As the Senior Executive Assistant, you will lead the provision of high-quality executive and secretarial support services across the Deputy Secretary and Commissioner offices. This will include diary and meeting management, stakeholder liaison, email and travel arrangements, as well as the reviewing of incoming briefs and correspondence, amending briefs and liaising with business areas as required.

The Senior Executive Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Deputy Secretary and Commissioner, working collaboratively with the team. The role requires the ability to operate in a complex and dynamic environment. Attention to detail and teamwork underpin success in this role, as well as a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • experience providing executive support and assistance to senior executives within a large, complex organisation.
  • experience creating, implementing and managing administrative processes, and initiating process change as required.
  • experience working with limited supervision in a sensitive, high-pressure, fast-paced environment, effectively liaising with senior staff and stakeholders on confidential and/or sensitive matters.

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
