Your role
This is an exciting 24-month fixed term contract opportunity as a Senior Business Analyst, and at its core is a business improvement role aimed at solving business problems.
Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Business Analysis, you will be instrumental in understanding and delivering projects and business practices. Within the Programs and Projects Office your role is pivotal in aligning the needs of clients and the business to enhance user experience and drive efficiencies.
What you do
- Consult widely and facilitate workshops to elicit and confirm complex business requirements.
- Determine business requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organisational change.
- Develop feasibility studies, business cases, business specification documents or use cases by collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Create test scenarios for applications and enhancements, ensuring functional requirements are met.
- Understand, analyse, and manage data efficiently to ensure its accuracy and to provide key insights to the business on insurance data trends, client behaviour and risk models.
Who you work with
You work with the PPO team, the Digital Enablement Team, IT, Actuaries and the business.
You partner with management, subject matter experts, vendors, and business stakeholders to identify, interpret and manage data to meet VMIA strategic objectives.
About you
- You have advanced business analysis, problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills that you demonstrate through the appropriate use of judgement in the implementation of business analysis and techniques.
- You have experience of working within an Agile development team and SCRUM delivery methodology.
- Experience in mapping current business processes and re-engineering processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrated experience working on technology related projects in a dynamic business environment; with a proven record of success.
- You understand financial reporting and HR processes and systems.
- Proven record of stakeholder management skills, including the ability to establish and manage stakeholder relationships to ensure the successful implementation of projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to identify and report relevant information to influence and aid decision making.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Information Systems/Data and Analytics and/or proven experience relevant to this role.
- Proficient MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint,Confluence and JIRA.
- Data and reporting tools – SQL, PowerBI, is desirable
