Job Summary
As an LNG Operations Specialist, you will contribute in commissioning and start-up efforts to provide technical and operational services to Licensed facilities using the proprietary ConocoPhillips Optimized Cascade® process. This role will support EPC contractors throughout all project phases for future and current Licensees. You will bring your operational experience to contribute to technical services by providing onsite support to Licensees.This role is a short-term rotational position expected to be 12 to 14 months in duration that requires a willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally. This flexibility provides you with valuable operational experience to develop your professional growth and exposure to our business while meeting the needs of the organization. Location: Houston temporarily and then Karratha, Western Australia
Expected start date June 2025 with an expected end date of July 2026
Position Overview
Your responsibilities may include:
- Contribute to multi-year commissioning and start-up support efforts for Licenses
- Inspection of cold boxes, vessels, heat exchangers, equipment and piping for cleanliness prior to commissioning
- Support & complete LNG train P&ID walk downs prior to start-up
- Provide support & guidance to Licensees regarding troubleshooting, resolving operational difficulties & facility optimization
- Develop energy isolation procedures, permit to work authorizations, job hazard assessments in accordance with EPC standards
- Support licensee and EPC company with mechanical runs
- Assist licensee and EPC company in all outside activities for startup
- Review and create commissioning, start-up and standard operating procedures
- Dry out of cryogenic equipment and piping prior to the introduction of hydrocarbons or refrigerant into the liquefaction area
- Always maintain a strong focus on process safety and lead by example to influence both EPC contractor and Licensee to do the same
- Monitor support proper cooldown of cryogenic equipment and piping during startup
- Support the EPC operations as a contributing member of the EPC contractor commissioning and start-up team through handover
Basic/Required:
- Currently hold or have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to obtain a passport and work visa if required
- 5 or more years of experience in facility operations
- 3 or more years as a Distributed Control System operator
- 3 or more years of experience in operations and/or operations support of an Optimized Cascade® Process facility
- 3 or more years of experience in turnarounds or capital projects
- 3 or more years of operations experience of turbine / compression
- Willingness and ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel for extended periods, both domestically and internationally, on a 28 & 28 rotation and/or a 14 & 14 rotation
Preferred:
- 5 or more years as a Distributed Control System operator
- 5 or more years of experience in turnarounds or capital projects
- 1 or more year experience in start-up / commissioning of a process facility
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information, new ideas, and perspectives
- Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
