About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor Maintenance (Belts) to join the Tom Price Fixed Plant Maintenance Services team and provide leadership in safely executing Fixed Plant Maintenance activities at a site level ensuring team performance is in line with short term objectives.

Reporting to the Superintendent Plant Maintenance, the role will require you to:
• Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
• Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
• Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Fixed Plant Maintenance technicians in belt splicing and maintenance tasks
• Oversee steel cord and fabric conveyor splicing and repair, ensuring safety and quality standards compliance
• Coordinate work across various locations, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
• Ensure all splicing tasks are completed in line with company and regulatory requirements, including risk assessments and hazard mitigation
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure required materials and equipment availability for splicing
• Foster a safety culture, ensuring all team members follow safety protocols and company guidelines
• Prepare reports and maintain documentation for all work performed, ensuring compliance with internal and external audits
What you’ll bring
• A current WA ‘Class’ Drivers licence
• Appointment as Statutory Supervisor under WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 with the functions as per Schedule 26
• Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing and coaching team members
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing adherence to safety procedures and regulations
• Dedication to maintaining high standards and quality in all maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and longevity of assets

It is known as one of the most attractive towns in the Pilbara with a high school, hospital and a high standard of recreation facilities.
This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia.
