Your Role
The key areas of accountability in the role are:
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business / end users, by translating technical terminology through simple oral and visual techniques and tools.
- Delivering high quality user stores, business, functional, non-functional requirements.
- Support in defining acceptance criteria and completing acceptance criteria testing / verification.
- Triage and estimating business analysis and acceptance testing effort.
- Championing the Business Analysis capability within the organisation, as well as working in partnership with design and product functions.
Requirements gathering:
- Eliciting requirements and performing analysis of business processes and documenting as-is and future state business processes.
- Facilitating workshops with stakeholders to elicit analysis and validate business processes, systems, and requirements.
- Delivering high-quality user stories, business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Assisting Product Manager (PM) in translating business requirements into clear, concise, testable and accurate user stories & process flows.
- Assisting PM in ensuring that requirements are understood by thorough story kick offs and constant communication using a variety of analysis and documentation techniques including the application of visualisation techniques to underpin joint understanding of processes and data.
- Assisting PM in refining tickets and user stories so they are ready for development
- Assisting PM in communicating any requirement dependencies, issues or risks identified through the analysis process.
- Assisting PM in contributing to the team's understanding and prioritisation during planning meetings and retrospectives.
- Assisting PM in Contributing to Showcases.
- Assisting PM in Participating in estimation sessions by describing the requirements and clarifying any questions raised.
Planning:
- Planning of the business and test analysis effort, determining how requirements will be managed, and ensuring deliverables delivered meets quality and governance standards.
- Alongside the Quality Analyst, develop test scripts utilizing comprehensive business requirements, functional documentation and processes.
- Coordinating execution of test scripts with delivery team.
Collaboration / Stakeholder Management:
- Experimenting with and developing new ways to present requirements and ideas.
- Communicating constantly with stakeholders, team members and other people throughout the company; Facilitating and participating in team stand-ups, retrospectives & iteration planning sessions; Communicating any requirement dependencies, issues or risks identified through the analysis process;
- Participates in vendor engagement.
- Communicates and influences project stakeholders.
- Pairs with Product Manager to ensure challenges, prioritisation and project scope are managed.
Community of Practice:
- Significant contributions to the flybuys BA community, driving the evolution of our BA practice Mentoring/coaching junior-mid level BAs in the team.
- Leading Showcases, guiding junior/mid-level BAs in their showcase contributions.
Your Experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering Business Analysis artifacts aligned to BABOK and Agile methodologies 8+ years Business Analysis experience.
- The ability to work with dispersed and diverse agile technology teams to deliver continuous value for our members.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing key stakeholders.
- A demonstrated understanding and facilitation of agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and Continuous Delivery.
- Strong analytical skills, proven ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant delivery applications i.e. BPM tools, Office suite, Jira / Confluence.
- Strong level of flexibility with a strong ability to lean others successfully through cultural, process, system and transformational change.
- Experience or the ability to mentor Junior and other Business Analysts where applicable.
- Industry certification in Agile and Business Analysis (e.g. SCRUM, SAFe, CBAP).
