Job DescriptionYour New Role
Reporting to the Group Head Operations, the Director Asset Management oversees a broad portfolio of property assets that includes commercial, office, industrial, heritage and infrastructure assets. Your team will provide property management, facilities management and asset transfer management expertise to the business, including ensuring assets are strategically managed during hold periods and when readied for divestment.
Core Accountabilities
- Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for asset, facilities, and property management.
- Work closely with delivery and support groups for the ongoing provision of property, facilities, tenancy and transfer management services.
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to shape organisation-wide strategies, budgets, and culture.
- Support development teams who have limited capability in facilities management, advising on risk management and compliance.
- Devise and implement strategies that minimise costs, maximise returns, and deliver profitable long-term results.
- Work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders (government, community, and private sector) to balance competing interests and achieve strong commercial and policy outcomes.
Please note that all Director-level positions are offered as maximum term contracts of up to five years.
Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout You
The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in driving teams to achieve significant commercial outcomes and a broad understanding of industry standards, legislative frameworks, and policy requirements.
This will require:
- The ability to drive contemporary property solutions across a diverse property portfolio.
- Tertiary qualification in property, finance, project management, valuation, or related field.
- Extensive and broad ranging experience in the management of property assets (desirable minimum of 8 - 12 years).
- Extensive knowledge and experience in successfully leading property management and facilities operations management in a complex organisation.
- Expertise in the preparation and analysis of financial feasibility modelling, budgeting and tight cost monitoring to achieve commercial outcomes.
- Skilled in corporate planning, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement (government, executives, and community).
- Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into operational results.
- High integrity, proactive problem-solver, and resilient under pressure.
- Strong political nous, adept at navigating competing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and maintaining high levels of employee engagement through mentoring and coaching.
