Bio-Security And Standards
Due to strict biosecurity and animal welfare standards in the poultry industry, all employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry and pigs and residing with others who work at other poultry or involved with pig farming/hunting.
About The Position
Darwalla is on the lookout for a waste collection driver to move hatchery waste from our state-of-the-art chicken Hatchery in Allora. A vehicle is provided.
You will be working alone and mostly outdoors, towing trailers of waste to a waste disposal site around 20 minutes drive from the hatchery.
Monday is the busiest day, with 4 loads required: 2 in the morning & 2 in the afternoon. Each load will take around 1.5hrs to complete. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are shorter days with just 2 loads each afternoon. The minimum shift period is 3 hours.
You will need to wash the trailers after delivery, so the work will be smelly and some physical fitness will be required. We have every applicant undergo a health check before employment to make sure you can handle the physical job requirements.

Open car license & trailer towing experienceForklift LicenceCompliance with bio-security requirementsHardworking and reliableTolerance for working with strong odoursWillingness and ability to work safelyGood communication skills with a clear understanding of English, both written and oralPrevious experience in factory, production, or farming is advantageous, but all necessary training will be provided.You must have work rights for Australia (be a citizen or have a valid visa with work rights).
