Description:
ouncil is seeking applications from highly motivated and experienced persons to fill this important role within the Water & Wastewater Department.
The primary purpose of the position is:
- To operate water filtration facilities and fully maintain the equipment and associated work areas / infrastructure.
- To assist with water quality assurance testing and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- The applicant would ideally possess Certificate III in Water Operations, Chemical Dosing, Fluoride and Confined Spaces certification with at least 12 months' relevant work experience (or have a willingness to obtain certifications after commencement).
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the general public and fellow employees are essential.
- The applicant must hold a current Class C driving licence.
Salary & Conditions
- The position is Grade 7 in Council’s salary system (from $1,166.90 to $1,300.40 per week plus allowances and 11.5% superannuation).
- Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award .
- The position involves working to a roster averaging 38 hours per week. Weekday, weekend and on-call work is a requirement of this position. The equivalent of a fortnightly RDO is available.

Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a ‘Functional Assessment’ including a ‘Drug & Alcohol’ screening.
