Your Role
As the Principal Corporate Services Officer, you will lead key financial functions, combining strategic management accounting expertise with operational oversight.
Responsibilities Include
Monitor and report on divisional budget performance, contributing to business plans and budget submissions that align with departmental standards.Build and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide valuable insights, streamline reporting, and support decision-making.Supervise and guide a professional team to deliver effective financial management, corporate compliance, and operational support.Provide clear and practical advice on corporate governance and financial systems, supporting continuous improvement and positive outcomes.Oversee financial transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.Conduct analysis and prepare reports, briefings, and submissions to highlight divisional trends and performance.Lead the implementation and improvement of corporate systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring smooth operations and quality outcomes.Organise and deliver training and professional development sessions to build team capability and support governance standards.Contribute to the preparation of the division's planning and reporting requirements such as agency service delivery statements, estimates briefs, annual report, corporate business report and risk register.Lead the provision of complex modelling, research, evaluation and analysis to inform the financial decisions of senior executives, the Director-General and the Minister on proposed state wide initiatives, projects, programs or policies for the department, including information to support inter-governmental funding negotiations.Play a key role in the research, analysis and evaluation of the department's financial data, data management, reporting and provide advice to inform recommendations and solutions to achieve desired objectives and best practice outcomes.
About You
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Expertise in leading performance strategies, budget management, and reporting frameworks to drive financial success in complex organizational environments.Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with the ability to develop and manage dashboards, reporting tools, and analytics to support informed decision-making.Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders.Extensive knowledge and experience in diverse financial practices, including complex financial modeling and analysis, while identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering concise, accurate advice.A proven ability to build and maintain effective networks with stakeholders, demonstrating collaborative decision-making, managing competing priorities, and achieving successful outcomes.
