Job Responsibility:
- Plans, organizes, and manages kitchen operations, including the preparation and cooking of food in a restaurant.
Duties:
- Prepares meals based on guests’ individual preferences and requests.
- Follows proper food safety guidelines and ensures all kitchen staff adhere to these standards.
- Maintains safety and caution while working in a hazardous kitchen environment with sharp tools and hot surfaces.
- Chooses high-quality ingredients to enhance the flavor of dishes
- Develops new recipes and signature dishes to attract and retain customers
- Trains and supports kitchen staff to help them perform effectively
- Manages inventory by estimating food requirements and ensuring adequate stock levels
- Stays informed about culinary trends and industry developments to improve guest satisfaction
- Operates efficiently and with precision during peak hours, including weekends and evenings
- Assists with additional tasks like cleaning when the team is understaffed or during high-traffic periods
- Collaborates with the restaurant’s management team for costing and follows their guidance
Qualification:
- AQF Diploma
- 3 years of experience in related field
