The Redleaf Group is seeking a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic Ecology team at our Toowoomba office. About the Role:
As a Graduate Environmental Scientist, you will play a vital role in supporting our environmental projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting fieldwork, including ecological surveys, habitat assessments, and biodiversity monitoring.
- Participating in fauna management as a fauna catcher, assisting clients in meeting fauna management requirements outlined in project permits and approvals.
- Performing desktop research and reviewing project assessments.
- Assisting with the preparation of technical reports, environmental compliance documents, and permit applications.
The role requires:
- Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability to undertake fieldwork in remote locations.
- Flexibility to work away from home for extended periods.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related field.
- Graduate-level experience in ecological or environmental projects (paid or voluntary).
- Knowledge of ecological principles, field survey techniques, and environmental legislation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Foundational understanding of GIS software such as QGIS and ArcGIS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Current first aid certificate.
- Class C Driver’s License.
- Fauna handling experience, including venomous snake handling (desirable).
