Through partnerships, The Social Housing Delivery Office provide and influence the provision of safe, secure, affordable, and appropriate housing to the people of Queensland, and the building of vibrant and connected precincts and communities in which they live.The Principal Program Officer, Property Management & Programs contributes and monitors the programming and delivery performance of maintenance, capital upgrade, and renewal / refurbishment programs. It manages linkages with other Housing projects and activities to inform the direction of the overarching Asset Management strategy. The position is responsible for the effective management of program delivery against targets in terms of budget, time, and quality.
This role supports policies and strategies which maintain and enhance the performance, value, and utilisation of the built asset portfolio of the department, including a positive contribution to the asset management of all departmental assets that provide safe and secure homes to vulnerable Queenslanders.
The position manages program performance and outcomes within key performance strategies, associated policies, and standards and protocols to meet operational objectives for maintenance and upgrade programs.
What You Will Be Doing
- Informing, developing and implementing portfolio strategies, programs, policies and projects for the effective management of the department's property portfolio that maximises asset useful life, complies with government, departmental and industry policy and norms, and ensures the assets remain ‘fit-for-purpose'.
- Leading and managing large, complex and diverse programs and projects relating to the department's social housing assets, ensuring the achievement of program/project outcomes on time, within budget and according to specifications.
- Providing expert property management analysis, information, reports and advice to inform asset management and broader Social and Affordable Housing Growth strategy, policy and practice, and ensure compliance with departmental reporting requirements.
- Leading and supporting partnering and relationship building with a diverse range of internal and external business partners, stakeholders and clients.
- Supporting innovation and continuous improvement in portfolio management strategy, policy and practice.
- Communicating and coordinating property management plans & strategies and their link to broader organisational strategy.
- Leading a team to optimise its achievement of outcomes through effective people leadership, resource management and capability development for the team and individual staff.
- Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
- A current driver's licence is required
- Travel will be required in this position
