JOB DESCRIPTION About the Role Civeo Australia are looking for an experienced Village Manager to join the leadership team in South Australia. This is a hands-on management role where you’ll spend time in the field directly with your teams.About You
As an experienced FIFO Village Manager, you know how to prioritise effectively and can handle multiple competing requirements, your management skills are highly developed from years of industry experience. You will be an excellent communicator who can speak with ease to a diverse group of clients, visitors and guests.
You will have experience in managing your own profit and loss and are familiar with navigating the scope of a service contract. In addition, you’re a safety champion with an in-depth understanding of remote site safety standards, especially HACCP. You can delegate effectively, lead by example and drive performance to achieve outcomes for our clients.

- Village Management experience at various levels, strong familiarity with scope of contract and onsite hospitality services
- Outstanding leadership experience with the ability to build a strong, stable team
- Strong understanding of Profit and Loss, budgeting, costs controls and rostering
- Minimum 1-2 years of FIFO experience as an VM, or an experienced Assistant VM from a Large 1000+ room site looking for a step up
- Must possess a valid manual driver’s license
- Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
- Ability to obtain an Approved Manager’s license
- Currently have or willing to obtain a clear National Police Clearance under 6 months old
- Able to pass a medical and drug screen
- Knowledge of rostering & time and attendance is essential
- Able to train and develop your own team onsite
- Strong computer literacy, able to pick up new systems quickly
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Comfortable with data and regular reporting
- Excellent attention to detail across reporting and service delivery
- Highly developed leadership skills and the ability to develop a high performing team with a culture focused on proactive customer service

- Any experience with Oracle/JDE technology will be highly regarded - Purchase Orders and reconciliation

RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
People
- To facilitate an open, values-based culture, championing Civeo as a best practice employer, and to inspire Village Teams to deliver continuously-improving employee satisfaction targets.
- To deal with disciplinary matters promptly, fairly, and in line with Civeo procedures and policies.
- To hold formal weekly meetings with the Kitchen team, briefing them on kitchen, Village, Operations, and company matters
- To undertake and provide to more junior staff, technical and other training as required, and to attend periodic team and individual meetings as required.
- To ensure sufficient residential accommodation is available for Village staff and that the standard of such accommodation and the associated services provided to staff is equal to that offered to guests.
- To promote a safety culture amongst staff by providing information, training, instruction and supervision in managing workplace risks.
- To deliver excellent services to guests and clients, in a timely manner, consistent with all relevant quality standards and service level agreements.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with all Clients based on confidence and trust in performance of Civeo Operations.
- To be fully conversant with client agreements, including agreed occupancy, revenue, and service levels and to ensure these are fully implemented.
- To liaise on a regular basis with the General Manager Operations and Senior Operations Manager to provide and receive information in relation to client needs and satisfaction.
- To deliver continuously-improving customer satisfaction targets.
- To facilitate and maintain a safe environment for our customers.
- To ensure all health, safety, quality and environmental standards and legislation are strictly implemented, ensuring a safe environment for employees, customers, contractors and visitors, delivering year on year reduction in non-compliance and incidents.
- To maintain all agreed health, safety, quality and environmental accreditations
- To ensure a professional and service-based Hospitality culture is maintained by the Village Management team with a focus on room occupancy maximization.
- To ensure compliance with Civeo reporting structure, including out of hours incident notification.
- To facilitate random and planned audits and follow up action required to ensure compliance to Civeo Policies and Procedures.
- To be aware of, communicate and report key operational and business KPIs.
- To undertake other special projects and responsibilities as directed from time to time by The Village Manager.
- To ensure all financial policies, procedures and processes are strictly adhered to, ensuring the highest standards of ethics and financial propriety.
- To report on, and provide projections on, budgetary performance.
- Any other required duties appropriate to the scope, nature and seniority of the role.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a business discipline or hospitality discipline and/or extensive and demonstrated successful management experience is desirable
- Manual C Class Licence
- Advanced First Aid
- Approved Managers Course
- Responsible Management of Licenced Venues (RMLV)
- Forklift Licence desirable
- Certificate II Security Operations desirable
- Previous experience in a senior management position, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Experience of ISO, HACCP and other quality standards
- Experience of hospitality IT systems
- Experience of responding to common inquiries and complaints from owner, regulatory agencies, or members of the customer community.
- Sound working knowledge of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011 and associated regulations
- Highly developed human resource management skills
