Are you a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist seeking a rewarding full-time opportunity to make a lasting impact? Look no further than SA Health's cutting-edge Rural & Remote Mental Health unit within the renowned Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (LHN). The consultant will be part of the Rural & Remote Mental Health Service Consultant Psychiatry Team located at Whyalla reporting to the Clinical Director. The consultant will liaise with Mental Health consumers, carers and family, community organisations, and external service providers in the Whyalla catchment.
As the Clinical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of high-quality mental health services across the region. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership in designing, planning, and implementing local mental health service networks.
- Driving the improvement of clinical outcomes and functional recovery objectives through effective leadership.
- Leading the analysis, implementation, and review of best practice clinical processes, systems, and evidence-based medicine.
- Ensuring the provision of high-standard, cost-effective clinical services to consumers through consultation with clinicians, general practitioners, and other service providers within the mental health service system.
- Contributing to the teaching and training of undergraduates and postgraduates.
- Working across the continuum of care in various sites within the regional Local Health Network Mental Health service.

To be eligible to apply you will have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent; and appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award .
