About the Role:
A well-established Building Services Consultancy in Darwin is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. With approximately 10 years of experience, including at least 2 years within Australia, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering electrical engineering projects across a variety of industries. In this senior role, you will also mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
This hybrid role allows for flexibility, with 50% of your time spent in the office and the remainder working from home. You will be involved in a diverse range of projects and will play a key role in driving the technical direction, ensuring the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Take ownership of multiple electrical engineering projects, ensuring their delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Design & Technical Leadership: Lead the design of electrical systems for a variety of building services projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and regulations.
  • Mentoring & Development: Mentor and guide junior electrical engineers, providing technical expertise and support for their professional development.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs, provide regular updates, and address any issues that may arise during project execution.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure all electrical designs and implementations comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and review detailed reports, designs, and documentation for project stakeholders, ensuring accurate record-keeping for all stages of the project.
Experience & Skills Required:
  • Around 10 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, with at least 2 years of experience working in Australia.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems in building services and a thorough understanding of Australian electrical standards and regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and mentor junior engineers.
  • Strong proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard tools).
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Membership with Engineers Australia (or eligibility to obtain) is highly desirable.
