Position Overview
ANC is looking for a motivated Financial Accountant to manage the financial reporting and compliance for a strategic project. This role will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure financial integrity, supporting project milestones, budget tracking, and expenditure management. You will contribute to the financial success of the project while supporting broader financial operations within the company.
What you’ll be doing
Electrification Project:
- Expense Management: Track, approve, and manage expenses related to the electrification project to ensure alignment with the approved project budget.
- P&L Accounting: Account for all Electrification Project-related P&L items, ensuring that they are in line with the approved budget and accurately reported.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular reports comparing actual spend and income for the Electrification Project against budget expectations, providing insights to key stakeholders.
- Milestone Reporting: Coordinate and collect all necessary financial inputs required for accurate milestone reporting and project performance assessments.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain appropriate and accurate records to support internal and external audits for the project.
Financial Accounting Support:
- General Accounting Tasks : Assist the Finance Team with various core accounting and administrative tasks as directed by the Financial Controller, including general ledger reconciliation, lease accounting, and intercompany reconciliation.
- Critical Role Support: Step in to support critical functions when staff are absent or when there is an urgent need.
Safety & Compliance:
- Safety Adherence: Promote and uphold ANC’s safety policies and contribute to a culture of wellbeing within the team.
- Incident Reporting: Actively report any safety incidents or hazards within the working environment.
What are we looking for
- A minimum of 3 years of practical accounting experience, preferably with a focus on project-based work.
- A degree in Business / Finance / Accounting, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office with advanced level in MS- Excel and the ability to adapt quickly to financial softwares and tools.
- Experience in Xero and Sage 300 or related softwares is a plus
- Experience in managing financial reporting and budget tracking.
- Solid understanding of accounting processes, with an ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
