Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Transport group.

As a Civil Engineer in our WA Transport team you will collaborate on planning, engineering design, and construction services to guide our clients through the entire project lifecycle. From feasibility studies to operations and maintenance, GHD has contributed to iconic projects like Gateway WA, Forrestfield Airport Link and Western Sydney Airport. Our team is growing, with current projects including Tonkin Extension Alliance, Canning Bus Bridge Interchange Planning, Alkimos Desalination Plant, various large planning projects and more. Working w ith an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Developing and coordinating the design and documentation of elements of road, earthworks, drainage, and general civil infrastructure projects.
• Developing technical and personal skills through participation in "on the job" and formal training and development opportunities in various phases of office and field work.
• Maintaining and enhancing existing client relationships with Main Roads, PTA, developers and more.
• Fostering a culture of quality and precision among junior team members by mentoring, sharing knowledge, and upskilling, enforcing client standards, and driving continuous improvement in deliverables.
• Contributing to the development of GHD’s knowledge and skills in technical civil engineering, including planning, design, and construction.
• Coordinating and liaising with other disciplines in multi-discipline project teams.
• Assisting and leading the preparation of proposals and fee estimates.

• A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven design experience in road, earthworks, drainage, and general civil infrastructure projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of key client design standards, including Main Roads WA, Public Transport Authority, Local Government Authorities, and Service Authorities.
• Proficiency in using software such as 12D and AutoCAD.
• Strong abilities to maintain, develop, and enhance both internal and external client relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and adapt as a team member within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and ensure high-quality work.
• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Strong cooperation skills, with the ability to work well with other staff and provide effective coaching.
• Ability to handle pressure and competing deadlines effectively.
• A valid driver's license.
