Drainer - Perth Metro Area

Unite Resourcing are currently seeking skilled and experienced Drainers for long-term opportunities on various projects around the Perth Metro area to work with our client.
These positions offer competitive hourly rates and the chance to be part of ongoing and rewarding projects. Whether you are an experienced offsider, a technician, or a leading hand, we have positions to suit your expertise!
Position Details:

• Drainage Offsiders : $48-$55 per hour (depending on experience)
• Drainage Technicians : $55-$60 per hour (depending on experience)
• Leading Hand Drainage Technicians : $65-$68 per hour

Overview:
A Drainer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems and related infrastructure. This role involves ensuring water flows efficiently to residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Working with an operational or project team, you will manage tasks including the installation of pipes, working around live water mains assets, handling complex excavation work, and conducting pipeline repairs and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:

• Installation : Install various sizes and types of pipework, culverts, and stormwater systems in line with technical specifications.
• Maintenance : Inspect, test, and maintain pipes and drainage systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Repair : Diagnose and repair leaks or damage within piping systems.
• Underground Services : Accurately locate existing underground services to avoid damage during excavation.
• Equipment Operation : Operate and maintain machinery and tools, including setting up pipe lasers and performing levels.
• Plant Operations : Provide direction and support to plant operators as necessary.
• Site Preparation : Prepare sites for pipe installation by clearing debris and excavating trenches.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as environmental guidelines.
• Safety : Adhere to all technical and safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and the team on-site.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in pipe laying or a related field.
• Current pipe laying or related accreditation, or demonstrated experience as a drainer.
• Plant operating tickets are desirable.
• Working at heights and confined space certifications are a plus.
• Construction White Card is essential.
• Technical understanding of Water Corporation specifications.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Work Environment:
This role may involve working in confined spaces, at heights, or with hazardous materials.
