Are you a skilled pianist with a love for teaching? Sono Music is excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Piano Teacher to join our vibrant team! If you possess a deep passion for music and a desire to inspire students of all ages, we want to hear from you!

Based at our Springfield studio, this position is to replace a staff member who is moving overseas. The successful applicant will hit the ground running with a full or near full schedule of students! We are ideally looking for somebody to work minimum 4 days a week, 5 days even better. However, for people who we feel are the right fit, we seek to provide their ideal roster, so we have some flexibility.

As a Piano Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in this mission, guiding beginners through their first notes and challenging advanced students to reach new heights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging and personalised piano lessons to students of varying skill levels.
  • Develop tailored lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles and goals.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.
  • Prepare students for recitals, exams, and other performance opportunities.
  • Conduct occasional workshops and attend our performance events.
  • Attend and contribute to professional development and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance our comprehensive music curriculum.

Preferred qualifications/experience/attributes

  • A degree in Music, or Grade 8 or above AMEB (or similar) is preferred but not essential.
  • Proven experience in teaching piano to students of all ages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for music education.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a love for music.
  • Willingness to work afternoons and evenings Monday through Thursday; and on Saturdays (daytime) is preferred. However, rosters are negotiable.
  • A high level of personal integrity and commitment.

Your compensation will be competitive. It is important that you are well compensated and that this job moves you in the direction that you want your life and career to be going. We don’t engage in unlawful “sham contracting” like some music schools. You will be employed under the correct Award, paid your superannuation entitlements, and enjoy an extremely consistent income and appointment book.
