Regional sentence management teams are located around the state, including one team located in Northbank plaza which also has a sub team in Townsville. Each Regional Manager is responsible for all sentence management functions within their locations, including the lawful detention of prisoners, human resource management and performance of SMS teams.

In this role you will:
- Provide operational and strategic policy advice in relation to sentence management, including high risk prisoners;
- Make decisions about security classification and placement for prisoners serving over six months imprisonment, and assist with the efficient use of cell capacity across the state;
- Review complex operational and policy matters and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure delegated authority is applied correctly and in an equitable manner;
- Provide timely reports on operational outcomes and emerging issues to Correctional Centre General Managers, General Manager Sentence Management Services, Executive Directors and Senior Executives;
- Contribute strategic advice on policy, service delivery, planning, management and operational issues impacting the region and broader Agency;
- Develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
- Manage human resources and lead unit staff; and
- Manage the operations of the Sentence Management unit including undertaking direct interaction with prisoners regarding the resolution of serious and contentious issues.
