Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) recently celebrated the historic passing of a legislative amendment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2005. This amendment significantly enhances IBA's ability to leverage capital, thereby supporting more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in achieving their dreams of home ownership, business enterprise, and community investment.

The amendment aligns with the Government's directive for IBA to expand its remit and play a more substantial role in delivering economic independence for First Nations people in Australia. To effectively fulfill this expanded mandate, the IBA Board recognises the need for strong leadership and strategic vision.
