What we are looking for:
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst for an initial 3 month contract with strong potential to extend. Hybrid model, 1-2 days per week in the Sydney office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse, interpret, and transform complex datasets from multiple systems to support project objectives.
- Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and domain experts to ensure data quality, accuracy, and alignment with business needs.
- Support the development and refinement of data models and metrics used for performance reporting and strategic insights.
- Document data sources, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure transparency and reusability.
- Provide input into data governance, metadata, and lineage tracking efforts as needed.
- Assist in stakeholder workshops and engagement sessions to clarify data requirements and validate outputs.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in end-to-end analytics including profiling, cleansing, linkage, and metric development.
- Strong skills in analytical process design, particularly for scalable, repeatable insights delivery.
- Ability to interpret data and develop meaningful, actionable insights.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R for data preparation and transformation.
- Familiarity with data sharing, modelling, and transformation techniques beyond front-end BI tools.
- Experience working with Power BI to support and enhance dashboard capabilities.
- Strong data storytelling skills with a focus on business impact.
