About the Role:
Join our dynamic Fund Management team in our Alternative real estate platform in Australia (“AXA IM Alts”) as an Assistant Fund Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in driving the management of the AXA Group’s Australian alternative real estate investments, both direct and indirect. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our investment strategies and enhance fund performance within a collaborative environment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of key fund and investment strategies.
- Lead the client liaison with the AXA Group Funds Management team in Paris and other internal teams at head office, along with collaborating with other client representatives at global AXA offices as required.
- Responsibility for the construction, maintenance and monitoring of investment performance, and the reporting of such to investors.
- Influence asset managers and the financial management team, and make key decisions to enhance Fund performance.
- Maintain awareness of all key fund and asset management matters occurring across the ventures.
- Oversee fund-related reporting to the Board and Investors, including insights on real estate markets and asset management initiatives, and acquisition and disposal programs.
- Ensure compliance with governance structures and participate in relevant Investor and Advisory Committees as required.
- Manage and oversee key processes for AXA funds, including asset and SPV budgeting and business plan development in collaboration with asset managers.
- Assist the Transaction Team with new transactions, including due diligence and execution. Coordinate the capital commitments and capitalization of the new ventures.
- Oversee the development and implementation of new fund structures to facilitate new Australian investments for the AXA mandate.
- Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned.
- Degree in Finance, Actuarial studies, Mathematics or Economics. CFA qualification would be highly regarded.
- Multi-lingual however must be fluent in English. Fluent in French (spoken and written) highly regarded.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, ideally with formal real estate qualifications. Experience working at a European fund manager highly desired.
- Strong background in real estate funds and investment management, with direct experience and exposure to alternative real estate sectors.
- Solid understanding of the European investment climate, investment structuring and cross border flows, along with FX strategy, transfer pricing considerations etc.
- Excellent skills in financial analysis, development feasibility, and valuation of real estate.
- Solid understanding of the real estate sectors in Australia.
- Exceptional written communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
- Strong quantitative, financial, and analytical skills, including DCF and financial modeling.
- Excellent skills in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and initiative.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
