Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for eLearning issues (Tier 2 IT support), contributing to the seamless operation of University-wide IT services as part of the eLearning Systems and Support team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Cyber Security & Compliance
-
Promote and implement sound cyber security practices in accordance with UQ policies and procedures.
eLearning Support & Troubleshooting
-
Provide comprehensive eLearning support to UQ staff via various channels, including logging incidents and resolving technical issues.
Client Service & Communication
-
Deliver prompt, courteous, and accurate responses to helpdesk queries, educating clients and escalating complex issues as needed.
Content Management & System Administration
-
Manage eLearning website content, administer the eLearning system (course migrations, testing), and assist academic staff with online course tools and assessments.
Documentation & Training Support
-
Develop technical guides, provide feedback to training staff, and assist with training documentation.
Research & Innovation
-
Research and evaluate online learning systems, generate innovative ideas, and contribute to the development of proposals and specifications.
Essential
-
Degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field (or equivalent), with experience using UQ LMS (Blackboard) and associated online learning tools (Turnitin, Echo, Kaltura, Chalk and Wire, etc).

Strong oral and written communication skills, coupled with proven problem-solving abilities.
-
Demonstrated experience in providing effective client service via various channels, and strong interpersonal skills for collaborative work.

Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage disruptions, and thrive in a dynamic IT environment.
-
Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and focus on achieving positive outcomes for clients.
Desirable
-
Experience in call tracking/logging systems, website maintenance (e.g., Drupal), and supporting staff development activities in a non-teaching capacity will be highly regarded.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
