About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Contracts to work within the Property and Facilities (P&F) Program Management Office (PMO), across our program of capital delivery construction projects managing internal processes related to vendor management, onboarding, project procurement, and post-contract administration. This role plays a key part in ensuring consistency in commercial and contractual documentation across the P&F capital works program while mitigating procurement and delivery risks.

Working within the PMO and working closely with internal and external project teams, you will manage panels of P&F suppliers, advise on suitable procurement processes, legal coordination, and contract management in line with UQ requirements, to support the effective delivery of capital projects. You will also provide leadership and guidance to procurement professionals and work collaboratively with key university stakeholders, legal teams, and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advise on and oversee the preparation, execution, and management of design, construction, and service-level contracts in collaboration with internal and external project teams.

  • Oversee procurement, tendering, and contract management processes to ensure they align with UQ’s legal, financial, and procurement frameworks.

  • Work closely with the PMO Program Capital Manager and stakeholders to coordinate accurate project reporting, financial management, and contract performance tracking.

  • Maintain strong relationships with delivery partners and supply chain stakeholders to drive effective contract management and governance.

  • Lead procurement planning, tendering, and risk-managed contract administration, ensuring compliance with UQ policies and delegations.

  • Collaborate with UQ’s Legal and Procurement teams to establish a standardised approach to contract terms, approvals, and variations, documenting these outcomes within the central PMO processes and procedures ‘Workbook’.

  • Ensure efficient document and data control, maintaining compliance with governance requirements for project-related contractual agreements.

About You

You will have qualifications in Law, Finance, Business, or Commerce, with extensive experience in contract administration and management. Your expertise spans procurement, tendering, risk management, and contract controls, with a deep understanding of project lifecycles and operational environments.

You bring strong dispute resolution and claims management experience, along with high-level organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines. Your interpersonal and negotiation skills enable you to build strong relationships and effectively influence stakeholders in a large, complex environment.
Experience in contract management within the construction or real estate sector, particularly in APAC and global programs, is highly regarded. Familiarity with university policies, procedures, and documentation would be an advantage, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
