The opportunityBoeing Defence Australia supports the AEW&C System for the RAAF, including engineering development activities to support upgrade and sustainment of the capability. Engineering upgrades are delivered through Block upgrades to the AEW&C System using a spiral delivery methodology with forward project planning forecasted out to at least five years. The Engineering Integration team supports the successful planning and integration of engineering development work delivered across the Block upgrade teams as well as key delivery interfaces to the Customer and Sustainment organisations.
The Project Engineer - Integration role is a technical leadership role responsible for the integration of project work within the Development business area. You will work closely with Block leadership teams (including the Block Project Managers, Chief Engineer and Engineering Managers) and Customer stakeholders to support integrated project delivery and improved business outcomes.
Reporting to the E-7 Engineering Integration manager, the role can be based in Brisbane, Williamtown, Amberley or Adelaide.
Responsibilities:
* Technical Leadership - communication, technical management, technical support to business management teams, technical risk management.
* Integration Mindset - use technical knowledge and communication skills to connect and align teams to achieve ‘best for enterprise' outcomes.
* Project Planning - forecast future engineering work scope using risk-based approaches, including budget & schedule, identification of critical risks and resources.
* Continuous Improvement (CI) - lead project engineering focused CI initiatives to achieve best practice business improvements, including establishing appropriate metrics and measures.
Experience/Qualifications
* Qualifications in engineering or equivalent technical experience. (RPEQ &/or CPEng desirable).
* 7+ years of experience working within multi-disciplinary technical projects.
* Understanding of engineering processes and approaches to deliver complex weapon system upgrades, preferably in an aerospace regulatory environment.
* Knowledge of the BDA E-7 Enterprise will be considered advantageous.
