The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Group
Schools and Regional Services (SRS) provides expertise at central, regional, and local levels to enhance learning and development outcomes. With 17 areas across four regions, supported by five central divisions, SRS ensures seamless collaboration between central offices, schools, and service providers to achieve ambitious departmental goals.
The Early Childhood Improvement Branch drives local implementation of government policies and reforms, including Pre-Prep and Best Start, Best Life. Focused on improving service quality, the branch supports kindergarten programs and initiatives that enhance outcomes for children.
About the Role
Mallee Early Childhood Improvement Branch as a Kindergarten Improvement Advisor, based in Mildura or Swan Hill. This role supports funded kindergartens to enhance service quality and implement reforms like Best Start, Best Life. Strong experience in early learning, curriculum delivery, and the VEYLDF is essential, with skills in collaboration, analysis, and group facilitation highly valued.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Building strong relationships with funded services.
* Using problem-solving skills and department systems to manage service needs.
* Analysing data and evidence to support educationally disadvantaged children.
* Fostering collaboration between services, schools, and communities.
* Advising on reform delivery and funding allocation.
* Implementing quality assurance measures to ensure early childhood reforms are delivered in line with Departmental requirements.
* Provide advice to Early Childhood Branch Manager on delivery issues, operational perspective and policy implications.

Qualifications:
* Required: Current Working with Children Check
* Required: Tertiary Early Childhood Education qualification
* Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
* Required: Experience in early childhood settings or transferable knowledge.
