The day to day

The Raw Materials Developer, based in our HQ at Loganholme in QLD, will work closely with design, sourcing, and production teams to identify, validate, and develop innovative materials to bring to life LSKD's product strategy. This role ensures the efficient sourcing, procurement, and management of raw materials necessary to produce Functional sportswear products. You'll ensure the availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness of raw materials essential by partnering and sourcing proactively valued aligned external partners.

  • Maintain, develop, and manage LSKD’s Raw Materials Toolkit & Core Material Library (including reengineering/duplication).

  • Source, develop, validate, and commercialise seasonal and core materials, ensuring specifications, pricing, and lead times align with business needs.

  • Oversee PLM system updates and digital raw materials library maintenance.

  • Conduct fabric quality assurance and risk assessments (e.g., Mold trials, bonding, printing) before adoption.

  • Manage and update 3rd party fabric & garment testing programs, ensuring materials meet quality standards and compliance requirements.

  • Oversee material bulk quality management and maintain the QA manual.

  • Lead Colour approvals, including lab dip WIPs, preseason risk assessments, and print development.

  • Foster strong supplier relationships, ensuring LSKD is a preferred partner and facilitating team training.

  • Conduct due diligence on suppliers, evaluating quality certifications, sustainability practices, and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborate closely with design and product development teams to align material selection with product performance and aesthetics.

  • Manage the procurement process, including price negotiations, forecasting, and rolling greige programs for core lines.

  • Monitor regulatory requirements, identifying potential risks and opportunities for the business.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of raw material specifications, certifications, and compliance.

  • Travels to suppliers, retail stores, places that help create inspiration for building product of the future for LSKD

What will you embody?

  • The Ideal Team Player: You are Hungry, Humble and Smart
  • 2+ Years Experience in Textile Industry or raw materials development

  • Familiar with textile compliance & sustainability

  • Foundational knowledge of textiles, including fabric construction, fibers, finishes, and performance properties.

  • Understanding of raw material testing and compliance standings

  • Experience with testing standards for high-performance apparel (e.g., sweat management, odour control, pilling resistance).

  • Colour management

  • Willing to travel

  • Strong communication skills

To give you the edge:

  • A degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Retail Management, or a related field is ideal
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • A keen eye for detail, aesthetics, and customer-centric design.

  • Proven experience in store or retail design, with a strong portfolio showcasing past projects.
