Permanent Part Time Position (25 hours per week)
Salary: $1,578 to $1,759 per fortnight (based on 50 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation
Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.
An exciting opportunity exists within our Community Liaison and Programs Team for a Community and Programs Library Assistant.
We are seeking to engage an enthusiastic customer oriented person to assist with library programs and activities which include author talks, educational seminars and events.

About the role
In your new role you will be responsible to the Community and Programs Co-ordinator. This is an operational position that relies heavily on teamwork and requires that you prioritise work according to customer need. Agreed deadlines must be meet on a daily basis. The Community and Programs Library Assistant’s position has the following major components:
· Provision of quality customer services
· Provision of Library Services
· Support the planning and delivery of library services, programs and events
· Support the marketing and promotion of library services, programs and events
About you
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer- oriented person who has good communications skills. Current enrolment in an approved course in Library Studies is the minimum qualification for the position.
Critical to the success of this role is your customer service skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. The Community and Programs Service Library Assistant is primarily based at Hornsby Library and may be required to work at branch libraries.
You will be required to have a current Working with Children Check to work in this position.
