The Opportunity
The Transport Modeller is accountable to the Senior Transport Modeller and provides support for the delivery of strategic transport modelling across the state’s transport system.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team. In this role, you will be working in the Transport Modelling team, contributing to the development, maintenance, and operation of advanced transport planning tools and techniques
Your responsibilities will include compiling and verifying input data, developing and testing scenarios, analysing and interpreting model outputs, and reviewing transport models to ensure they meet their intended purposes. Additionally, you will provide professional advice to enhance the models and the overall modelling process.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with customers and other project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications/Experience
A recognised degree or postgraduate qualification providing eligibility for professional accreditation in Engineering, Planning or appropriate scientific (numerate) discipline is required.
Experience with modelling software, tools and programs (Aimsun Next, CUBE) is desirable.
Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Remuneration
PO1 - $68,478 to $83,594 pa + superannuation.
