About the opportunity:

Position: Advanced Peer Worker

Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 50 hours per fortnight

Location: Safety, Education, Risk and Quality Unit, Townsville

  • Salary range: $45.81 to $50.46 p.h. (AO4)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or the ability to undertake a certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work is highly desirable.
  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld) , there is a genuine occupational requirement for the successful applicant to have a personal lived/living experience of mental illness and/or substance use challenges. It is expected that the successful applicant be prepared to utilise their lived/living experience to assist others where appropriate and to be a role model for consumers and the wider community to overcome stigma and encourage personal development.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance and Blue Card Checks.
