What You’ll Do:
As the Sport Development Manager, you will lead the development and management of client relationships, driving growth for both consulting and grant writing services. Your role will have a direct impact on the strategic direction and success of sporting clubs and community organizations across Australia. In this role, you will:
- Client Management: Build and manage relationships with existing and potential clients, identifying and promoting opportunities to sell consulting services and grant writing.
- Consulting and Grant Writing: Oversee and contribute to the development of strategic documents, including strategic plans, facility development plans, and grant-ready plans.
- Grant Support: Assist clients with grant writing, research funding opportunities, and ensure successful grant acquittals.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Projects Team and Grant Writing Team, ensuring effective and seamless communication between teams.
- Leadership: Mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of the team. Help guide the organization’s growth and contribute to strategic initiatives.
What You Bring:
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience working or volunteering in the community sport sector.
- Knowledge of Australian community sport, its institutions, and structures.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A passion for making a real difference in the community sports sector.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with strategic planning and grant writing processes.
- Experience in the sports, recreation, or community development industries.
