Sustainability Reporting Analyst

Job Description Summary

This role will support the delivery of best-practice environmental performance reports, ensuring compliance with legal and voluntary reporting obligations. You’ll manage and update sustainability data, including energy usage and costs, and validate the data for accuracy. Providing analytical support to the Sustainability Team, you’ll also maintain key administrative documentation and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture, supporting safety, knowledge-building, and continuous development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of best practice client environmental performance reports (e.g. carbon footprint, energy consumption, waste generation and recycling performance) to support our client’s legal and voluntary reporting obligations.

  • Source and update all reporting system energy usage, sustainability, and cost data, including rates and tariffs on a timely basis, including from 3rd parties.

  • Validation and correction of sustainability data (via exception reports).

  • Provide analytical support to the Sustainability Team as required.

  • Maintain all key administrative documentation.

  • Work as an integrated, informed, effective and positive member of our team in relation to but not limited to safety, culture, administrative policies and procedures, systems of work; delivery, knowledge building, learning and development.

Background and Experience

  • Graduate qualifications in sustainability, environmental science, data science, analytics or related discipline.

  • Recent graduate from university or up to 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Excellent proficiency in the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of Power BI tool is desirable.

  • Knowledge of relevant Australian sustainability disclosures, including NGERS, and understanding of the Greenhouse Gas Protocols is desirable.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Time management skills to prioritise tasks and ensure projects are completed in line with the project plan.

  • Proven analytical skills to derive meaningful insights from data.

  • Confident in working with both internal teams and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration when needed.

  • Ability to manage and validate data efficiently, providing accurate and actionable reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

  • Based in Canberra but open to consider applicants from Sydney and Melbourne
