- Full-Time (80 hrs + ADO) to May 2026
- Salary Package: $126,885.20 + Superannuation
- Located at The Alfred - some travel to Sandringham Hospital may be required
- 7day roster and weekend shifts

Alfred Mental & Addiction Health is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne.

About the role
The Consultation Liaison (CL) nurse is a clinical position providing mental health nursing consultation services to The Alfred. This pivotal position will work within the CL nursing team and the broader CL arm to support the hospital in managing mental health issues experienced by patients within the hospital.
The CL nurse will provide expert mental health assessment and assist staff with the management of patients who are at risk of potential aggression and behavioural disturbance. The incumbent will ensure nursing staff are supported and guided to effectively interact, manage and empathically care for patients with mental health issues. They will take responsibility for developing nursing strategies in collaboration with primary nurses and other clinical staff to manage mental health issues.
About you
- AHPRA registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered nurse with tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing – post graduate diploma equivalent as a minimum.
- Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience
- Higher degree in a relevant field or working towards highly regarded
- Experience in CL, Emergency Psychiatry and/or community experience highly regarded
- Australian working rights
