We are recruiting a full-time hotel manager to be a part of our team at our property. The Hotel Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and overall success of the property by organising and controlling the operations including accommodation, meals and other services. This will be achieved by outstanding leadership of the team, a commitment to high service standards, driving operational efficiencies and managing revenue and costs against a budget.
This is a full-time permanent position.
Salary offered for this role is between $90,000 – $100,000 plus superannuation.
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Managing the day-to-day hotel operations.
• Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and Victorian liquor licensing laws and compliance with occupational health and safety laws
• Ensuring all departments are presented in a neat and tidy manner and overseeing smooth functioning of all areas of the facility including reception, room service, reservation, restaurant, bar and housekeeping services.
• Overall responsibility for the maintenance of all plant and equipment, buildings and services
• Contract negotiation with and ordering from suppliers
• Attending meetings with all departments ensuring a team focus on the property’s short- and long-term goals
• Maximising performance and profitability and ensure the gross profit is achieved and budgets and forecasts prepared in advance
• Provide overall leadership to the team and support the contributions of team members
• Treat all guests in an appropriate manner and ensure a positive experience with the facility by all guests
• Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining highest standards of service provided.
Qualifications, skills and experience
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in hotel management
• A degree or relevant qualification in hotel management
• Previous experience in co-living, long stay and student accommodation
• An ability to understand and navigate complex stakeholder environments
• Strong focus and passion for hotel operations
• Sound understanding of emerging trends in the industry
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop and inspire teams
• Confident and articulate communication to all stakeholders
• Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to make sound financial decisions and understand commercial implications
• Availability to work rotating shifts as required including afternoon, day, early morning and night shifts.
