Be Recruitment are a recruiting for fix female complex behavioural support workers in the Auburn area of Sydney.Participants within the service will have severe and persistent mental illness and have complex behaviours associates with their illness. Support will be provided in a residential setting with a single participant.
As a Complex Behavioural Support Worker, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of different mental health diagnosis. You will also have experience supporting participants who show complex and challenging behaviour and be confident in responding to behaviours in a calm and professional manner and in line with behaviour support plans.
Your tasks may include but not be limited to the following:
- Behavioural management (physical and verbal aggression, property damage, absconding and sexualised behaviours)
- Work in a recovery-focused way
- Coordinate and implement social outings
- Day to day living support
- Complete detailed shift notes and incident reports.
- A proven track record working with people who show complex and challenging behaviours
- Experience working with vulnerable people in a residential setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of different types of mental health diagnosis
- Proven ability to work as a part of a close-knit team
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Commitment to best practice
- Female (This position has a genuine occupational qualification requirement due to the requirement to provide intimate and personal care to female participants)
- Minimum Cert III qualification
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training (or equivalent)
- Full NSW Drivers License
- NDIS Worker Check
- WWCC
- First Aid - Less than 3 years old
- CPR less than 12 months old
- Mental Health First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain after a successful interview
- Willingness to undergo a police check
