We are hiring for a Senior Technical Manager.
This role works cross functionally and cross markets to increase research potential and output, manage clinical trial product packing, randomization and customs clearance where required.
This role reports to the Group Director of Product Development and we are open for this role to be based either in Melbourne (Braeside) or Sydney (Surry Hills or Warriewood) and will need to comply with our flexible work arrangement of working 2 days from home and 3 days from office.
What will you do?
- Works with the Project Manager and stakeholders (such as manufacturing, planning, quality, regulatory/safety) to ensure contributions occur within the necessary timeframes to deliver investigational products to markets
- Works with internal regulatory teams and where applicable directly with local partners in the markets to register investigational products for clinical studies
- Provides technical and other documentation for smooth export/import process, including Certificate of Analysis demonstrating both safety and efficacy of trialed products
- Active/placebo costs delivered on time and within budget for approval
- Organising and delivering investigational materials on time by timely anticipating issues, solving problems from other technical departments and markets
- Initiates and manages Mutal confidentially agreements (MCA), insurance, contract administration with legal team
- Makes sure randomization is secured in line with GCP requirements and packed investigational product properly labelled
- Formulate investigational products in close collaboration of interested markets and product development teams, in accordance with the research propositions and Blackmores SOP requirements
- Review formulas acceptable to business units and based on allowable scientific or traditional evidence, providing a researched and referenced rationale for doses, potential claims and ingredient inclusions
- Provides technical input to maximise cost/benefit efficiencies for product formulations based on global strategic needs
- Commercial assessment of potential intellectual property (IP) issue, strategy to manage existing or navigate competitors’ IP
- Contributes to patent searches and technical relationship with patent attorneys for advice and execution where required
- Commercial viability is confirmed by conducting the cost analysis on materials and final product , leading to the rough assessment commercial viability of projects under consideration

Who are you?
- Possess a Bachelor or Msc degree in pharmaceutical sciences (Pharmacy Pharmacy or other medical field)) or
- Possess a qualification in relevant technical discipline in Naturopathy, Nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine as a Practitioner with minimum of 5 years with sound clinical management experience.
- Understanding of GCP requirements for conducting clinical studies
- Prior work experience in the field of medical sciences/nutrition or pharmaceutical formulation or manufacturing
- Fast moving, solution driven with a good track record of successful execution and sound and compliant technical solutions
- Sound strategic thinker who is analytical and able to display good commercial acumen
- Able to critically appraise clinical trials and published research
- Able to display knowledge of raw material suppliers, active and excipient ingredients and contract manufacturing.
