Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Application Packaging Engineer (L3) to manage and support application packaging, deployment, and troubleshooting across enterprise environments. This role requires expertise in MSI, Intune Win32 apps, SCCM, PowerShell scripting, and application virtualization . The L3 engineer will act as an escalation point for complex issues, optimize application deployment processes, and ensure seamless user experience across devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Packaging & Deployment
· Package, test, and deploy applications using MSI, Intune Win (Win32), App-V, and PowerShell .
· Work with Microsoft Intune and SCCM to deliver applications efficiently.
· Convert legacy SCCM-deployed applications for Intune cloud deployment.
· Develop and optimize silent installation scripts using PowerShell, VBScript, or Batch.
Troubleshooting & Support
· Act as an L3 escalation point for application deployment issues.
· Diagnose and resolve installation failures, dependency issues, and application conflicts.
· Use log analysis tools (Event Viewer, Intune Logs, SCCM Logs, Proc Mon, etc.) to troubleshoot issues.
Process Optimization & Documentation
· Create and maintain detailed documentation for application packaging and deployment.
· Improve packaging processes to enhance efficiency and reduce failure rates.
· Collaborate with end-user computing (EUC), security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compatibility and compliance.
Security & Compliance
· Ensure application packages adhere to security standards and best practices.
· Implement certificate signing, security policies, and privilege escalation where necessary.
· Validate compliance with enterprise endpoint management policies .
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Skills
· 5+ years of experience in application packaging & deployment .
· Expertise in MSI packaging tools (Admin Studio, InstallShield, Wise Package Studio).
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune (Win32 App, LOB Apps, MS Store integration) .
· Hands-on experience with SCCM (Application Deployment, Collections, Baselines) .
· Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch scripting .
· Experience troubleshooting application deployments using Proc Mon, Event Viewer, and log analysis .
· Knowledge of Active Directory (AD), Group Policy (GPO), and Windows Registry settings .

Preferred Qualifications:
· Microsoft certifications ( MD-102, MD-100, or equivalent ).
· Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows Autopilot, and MDM solutions .
· Knowledge of macOS application packaging is a plus.
