About You
As the Community Facilitator , you will play a vital role in delivering capacity building training, including English skills, digital skills and information about Australian systems for community members through the East African Empowerment and Employability Training program. Your position is responsible for developing and implementing lessons to enhance English communication skills, pre-employment skills, and understanding of Australian systems for women from an East African background.
Fixed Term Part Time Contract till March 2026. 12 hours per week.
What will you be doing? Inclusive but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lesson development and delivery:
• Develop lessons for community, focusing on building skills in English, pre-employment skills, digital skills and understanding of Australian systems, such as: education, employment, transport and legal systems.
• Support the delivery of lessons to meet the learning styles of participants in the program.
• Ensure that all referrals align with the specific needs and goals of the individuals in the community.
2. Collaboration and Partnership:
• Collaborate with the community leaders based in the Logan area, at the training facility.
• Work collaboratively with existing internal ECCQ programs.
• Act as a liaison between the community and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
3. Data management
• Program codesign and work with the community to create workshops that will identify key their priorities.
• Support the community group to access existing mainstream services, while advocating for their needs
• Collaborate with ECCQ training teams to support the community through governance training, skills development, succession planning, and project planning.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the proposed program by gathering feedback from the community and stakeholders.
4. Data management:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant learning and progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant data protection regulations.
• Generate regular reports on lesson and participant outcomes, program impact, and community engagement for internal and external stakeholders.

• Demonstrated experience in community development, capacity building training or related roles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships, ability to engage with diverse communities.

• Demonstrated understanding of human rights, diversity, and inclusion principles.
• Advantage if you can speak Swahili, Kirundi or Kinyarwanda .
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Social Work, human services, Community Development, etc.) or equivalent study/work experience.
