We are extremely proud to say that boarding life has always been an integral feature of TSS since the first boarders arrived in 1909 into Thorold, McKinley, and Delpratt Houses. The boarders bring to TSS their unique personal qualities and perspectives and are foundational in providing a unique community within a community in our School.
Our boarding team are now seeking great candidates who are interested in School Boarding and available to commence in January 2025. These are live in, work out positions meaning if you are currently studying or have a role that provides some flexibility for evening or morning duties as well as weekend duties, this role in our boarding team will suit you!
We are seeking individuals who are willing to become an integral part of our boarder’s daily lives and our Boarding community –this opportunity could blend perfectly with candidates’ study or work schedules or professional roles in the community.
In the role of Boarding House Supervisor, you will be asked to provide between 10-15 hours per week of residential supervisory duty – this is all rostered so there are no surprises, and you can work your duties around your commitments. In return for your time, we offer you :
- Single accommodation (studio room with kitchenette and ensuite) for a full year.
- We cover all the utility costs (rates, rent, water, power) including internet and Wi-Fi.
- On-site catering for all meals during term time (37 weeks per year)
- Free access to the extensive onsite facilities (gym, pool, tennis courts, free parking, etc.).
- The opportunity to be part of and become an active member in a vibrant and diverse Boarding community and to see our incredible boarding and academic teams in action!
To be considered for this role applicants should:
- Hold or be willing to obtain a first aid certificate including CPR.
- Be willing to complete ABSA Level 1 Boarding/Duty of Care qualification – facilitated once appointed.
- Be a 2022 high school graduate minimum.
- Have a passion and interest in working with and supporting the wellbeing and safety of young people as a mentor and a support person in a supervisory capacity.
All applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a working with children blue card and should be prepared to provide a recent criminal history check.
