About the role
Mater’s Health - Revenue Team is looking for an Administration Officer - External Correspondence to join the Team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based at South Brisbane.
Salary range: $76,963 - $85,591 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You will support the Mater by accurately and efficiently completing tasks associated with the processing and finalisation of medical external correspondence. You will achieve this by:
- Identify opportunities for cost saving and raise with manager
- Respond to stakeholder enquires relating to Mater correspondence
- Escalate issues with external provider software to manager
- Ensure mandatory competency requirements are current
- Report incidents in a timely manner
- Identify and report workplace health and safety (WHS) concerns to Manager
- Meet all performance objectives agreed with manager
- Adhere to policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines relevant to the position
- Assist manager to update procedures, work instructions and guidelines relevant to the position
- Undertake duties associated with clinical transcription, e-letters and discharge summaries. Including:
- Review and edit comments and queries made by external transcription provider
- Review and release Mater correspondence as required
- Review returned correspondence and assess course of action as required
- Complete daily and weekly audits to monitor the quality and timeliness of correspondence
- Produce accurate clinical transcription
About you
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Sound knowledge of medical and pharmacological terminology relevant to a tertiary healthcare facility such as Mater is desirable
- Well-developed keyboard and data entry skills
- Understanding and acceptance of patient rights to privacy of personal information and consistent adherence to statutory and organisational obligations to maintain patient confidentiality
- Proven ability to function as a contributing team member, maintain confidentiality, work with minimal supervision and be flexible Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of outputs
- Demonstrated sound interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated time management and organisation skills, including the ability to organise and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
- Competent use or ability to learn all information systems required to perform the tasks associated with this role including the dictation/transcription system, patient administration system, health professional’s directory, clinical portal, and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel applications
