About the role:

You will be teaching within the Foundation Studies Program – a program designed for international students who have chosen Tasmania as the place they wish to complete their secondary education before commencing their tertiary studies at UTAS.

The units are equivalent to senior secondary subjects taught in the Australian curriculum, with adjustments to promote language and study skills development.

  • Humanities: Covering topics in history, geography, and global issues to develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Business: Introducing fundamental concepts of economics, management, and marketing, equipping students with practical business knowledge.
  • Science: Foundational units in biology, chemistry, or physics to prepare students for a variety of STEM-related university courses.
  • Mathematics: A general maths unit designed for students pursuing both STEM and non-STEM university courses, covering algebra, functions, and geometry.

About you:

Our students come from all over the world to fulfil their dream of studying at an Australian University. Pairing your sound pedagogical knowledge with excellent communication skills, you will assist our students to achieve their goals.

To be successful you will have:

  • Bachelor degree or higher level qualification in education
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies such as online Learning Management System
  • Experience managing classes and engaging with students effectively
  • Advanced written, reading, and oral communication skills

Teacher registration is not required.
