Our services span over a broad range of infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle, for clients within the private and public sector. Our company continuously services and is involved in large-scale projects and mega-projects ($1b+) and work across the most exciting and innovative projects across Australia.

C&I operate across Australia, providing the following core services:

  • Cost advisory / quantity surveying
  • Risk management
  • Project planning and advisory
  • Project delivery support
  • Commercial and contract services
  • Project Completions Advisory (Major Projects QA)

We are a diverse and growing business, with offices in Sydney and Adelaide and further plans to expand.

The role

We are seeking applicants at all levels to fill a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator / Cost Manager role within the Adelaide office. The role involves:

  • Interpretation and quantification of infrastructure designs.
  • First principles estimation
  • Quantitative risk analysis using Monte-Carlo methods
  • Producing cashflows and escalation analysis
  • Procurement analysis
  • Basis of estimate reporting

We are seeking various levels of expertise and encourage all applicants to apply.

In addition to the above, Senior applicants will be responsible for general supervision and team management. The role will further involve:

  • Supervision and management of company deliverables
  • Team management and review of deliverables prior to submission
  • Client liaison and management

Senior personnel assume leadership roles in both pre-and post-contract activities, contributing technical expertise, oversight, and review of deliverables. Moreover, they actively engage in the management, guidance, and development of designated team members, employing both formal and informal methods.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide accurate project estimates using first principles and unit rate estimating methods.
  • Interpreting infrastructure designs and completing quantification of designs to produce BOQs.
  • Efficiently coordinate assigned projects, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the estimated scope and level of detail aligned with the proposal.
  • Act as a liaison with external consultants, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain an up-to-date file or library of material suppliers, current labour laws, and equipment rental rates, and reference similar projects.
  • Ensure compliance with our Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) system.

About you

While the ideal applicant(s) will have come from a similar role in a similar environment, we are looking for all candidates who are able to demonstrate:

  • Basic knowledge of BOQ structures and cost estimation principles.
  • Ability to interpret infrastructure drawings and determine quantities from drawings.
  • Ability to estimate costs of material, labour, plant and sub-contractor components.
  • Exposure and experience across civil infrastructure projects (extending across either Contractor, Client or professional services experience).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments and levels of the organisation.
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Possession of a minimum degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated passion for the role and a strong desire to work and grow within the organisation.
  • Proactive and self-motivated in approach.
