About the role:
The Senior Contracts Manager’s primary responsibility is to commercially manage, drive and support Lockheed Martin Australia’s Programs and Projects in the Radar Systems and Sensors (RSS) market segment with the aim of achieving LMA’s business objectives, through pragmatic and sound commercial advice, contract management and delivery. The scope of activities include the commercial management, development and submission of bids / proposals (including internal approvals), customer engagements / negotiations and subsequent contract management and delivery.
When required, this role will also engage with and provide support to other defence programs and projects pursued by Lockheed Martin Australia. The position will support the Manager, Contracts Management Integrated Warfare Systems & Sensors (IWSS) line of business and also include tasking leadership for entry and mid-level Contracts’ team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the commercial and contractual oversight, management and governance of programs and within assigned responsibility.
- Develop and drive contractual performance through negotiation, strategy development, improvement initiatives and provision of expert commercial advice.
- Identify innovative commercial solutions to improve delivery performance, reduce costs, address performance issues and increase business revenues.
- Review, evaluate and lead opportunities to generate new business by working directly with the customer and key stakeholders to identify and capture commercial opportunities and shape future customer direction
- Work collaboratively with Sourcing staff to ensure Subcontractor performance and Program commercial and contractual arrangements are back to back, consistent and effective.
- Work with Legal and Export/Import (EXIM) to ensure Program legal and export / import requirements are met.
- Provide tasking leadership for other Contracts’ team members and actively assists, or provide guidance as required. Significantly contribute to the creation of an effective and positive workplace culture.
About you:
- Highly advanced commercial leadership skills and specialised understanding of commercial approaches in a multi domain environment
- Excels in customer and stakeholder engagement
- Exceptional commercial and contractual drafting and writing skills
- Significant ASDEFCON background / experience
- Advanced knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory standards, business management policies and procedures
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline (Contract Management, Commerce, Law, etc.), or equivalent experience / combined education
- Exemplary communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities
