PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Undertakes responsibility by coordinating and overseeing the operation, repairs and maintenance of Power and Water’s, water and wastewater
systems within Tennant Creek and the Barkly Region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
Function
  • Help ensure that water and wastewater systems are operated and maintained to agreed service levels, quality standards and licence
requirements through efficient and effective management of the day-to-day operation and repairs/maintenance of those systems and assets.
  • Participate in a 24/7 service coverage and provide prompt response to system interruptions through participation in an on-call roster.
  • Assist in the development and execution of preventative and planned maintenance and minor capital works programs.
  • Safely and efficiently execute unplanned works and works defined in the Works Program schedule as allocated.
  • Coordinate, control and manage internal and external resources including contract management to achieve operational and maintenance
programs as allocated.
  • Provide all information required for work order close out, including all relevant asset information, and record in the approved system.
  • Provide operational and emergency support as required to the urban and remote communities in the Barkly Region.

  • Manage safety and environmental, hazards, incidents and actions through the safety management system within timeframes. Contribute to
timely and accurate investigations as part of the investigation team.
  • Seek to reduce the environmental impact of the organisation through compliance with legislative, regulatory and licence requirements.
Customer
  • Maintain and promote a high standard of customer service including timely and sensitive responses to customer complaints, enquiries and
cross-cultural issues.
Quality
  • Support a continuous improvement culture, developing and reviewing processes and procedures to ensure they are current and relevant to
legislative, regulatory, and other work requirements.
  • Effectively undertake investigations, develop concept and detailed designs, specifications and justifications for capital and operational Business
Cases in accordance with the strategic needs of Water Services.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualification and Skills Experience
Essential • AQF Certificate III/IV in water or wastewater • Significant experience in the installation, operation,
operations or formal trade certificate in a related repair and maintenance of equipment associated with
field. water and wastewater systems.
