THE ROLE
Due to rapid yet strategic expansion, and winning sizable tenders, increasing their pipeline of work, this role is an addition to the current team.
The Director is seeking a self-starting professional who can just "get on with it!! as the owners focuses on quality output and expanding their presence.
This role will allow you to take full responsibility from vetting vendor listings, to working one on one with the design and construction team. You will see each role come to fruition with this inclusive and transparent team
- Experienced estimating projects for piling shoring and ground engineering solutions
- Preparing and submitting ground engineering tenders for rail, road, civil, mining, & infrastructure projects
- Preparing methodology, staging plans, programs and BOQs.
- Prepare all documents for execution of contracts.
- Manage workload effectively and meet strict deadlines for tenders, reports, and cost estimates.
- Maintain strong communication with the team.
- Improve systems and procedures for better workflow in estimation and tendering.
- Develop and refine estimation methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior staff and engineers.
- Ensure all submissions meet sharp standards complying with tender criteria.
- Request and review subcontractor quotes, negotiating pricing agreements when necessary.
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to maintain competitive pricing.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of work completed by others during the tendering process.
- Prepare detailed methodologies and construction schedules.
- Utilise estimating software and tools to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
- Identify and quantify project costs, being, labour, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure all works conform to legislative and contractual WHS requirements
- Cost reporting withing timeframes
- Safeguard and monitor company margins, ensuring P&L’s are correct and maintained
The Essentials
- Relevant degree or certification in Civil Engineering or Construction
- Three years of experience as an Estimator in the civil construction industry
- Management Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
- Computer literate (Excel, Word, Program etc.)
- Understanding of planning and programming
- Ability to develop & maintain systems and procedures to each project
- Ability to meet strict deadline
- Familiar with WH&S methodology and practices
